Weekly update, December 28, 2020
Greetz internet friend and welcome back to my blog and the weekly update! I am still on vacation so I’m going to try to keep it short and mostly talk about art and music.
Professional
I’m on vacation, nothing to report.
Politics
I am furious about too many things regarding politics to rant right now. I saw that the Republicans denied the $2000/month stimulus increase that Donald Trump was talking about, and are instead trying to sue once again to cheat the results of the election and overturn the will of more than 80 million Americans, and it is so offensive that I can’t say or write nothing. But I’m not going to let it ruin my day, so I’m going to just move on.
Black Lives Matter
Once again, I don’t have a heap to say, outside mentioning again explicitly that Black Lives Matter! If you are a fan of music or art, take time out to follow and support more BIPOC creators and artists!
Personal
I spent most of last week recording the drums for the sophomore release from my solo music thing that I am calling Dude and the missing rugs and today I’m going to start recording bass lines. I’ve been spending time on TikTok over the last week and somehow managed to grow my @dudeATMR account from 1 follower to over 200! In fact, I really like that platform much more than I thought I would. There are some good communities there, and it’s nice to not just hear the drone and have to read about all the bad news. It’s enjoyable to see the creativity and artistic work that is still being done. I’ve found more cool bands and artists from TikTok than almost anywhere else. Also, not for nothing, but in one week I managed to amass 234 followers at the time of this writing. It took me like 11 years on Twitter to get to over 800 and at this rate, if I keep posting content, it’s possible I could have that many followers in a month.
I could probably write more on this subject of TikTok, and I almost certainly will at some point in the future. For now, I just want to share one final thing. Last week my wife got her website set up, and you can check it out here. She has been creating acrylic paintings and doing photography and I think that her work is really good. I am obviously biased, but I would recommend that if you like art, you should check her page out!
