Weekly Update, Jan 4, 2021
Greetz internet friend and welcome back to my weekly update and 2021, which is some totally cyberpunk shit! I am writing this on Sunday, which I rarely do, but since 2021 is a new year, I figured I would try something new.
Professional
Today is my first day back to work after two weeks of vacation, so I have nothing professional to share.
Politix
How do I even start, when there are leaked tapes of the President of the United States trying to find votes and asking the Secretary of State of Georgia to find more votes for him? How much more does he have to cheat and try to steal and election he lost by millions of votes? Will the Democrats ever offer any meaningful opposition? I once again tweeted at my representative in the House, to ask him to be a leader and impeach Donald Trump again, but he doesn’t really listen to me, I think I just annoy him. Which, to be clear, I am quite annoying. However, he works for me and not the other way around! If anything, I am increasingly convinced that the Democrats are just slightly less awful than the Republicans, and more convinced than ever that we need real change in the United States. I’ve got an adult lifetime of experience but like Charlie Brown with the football, I keep trusting Lucy (the Democrats) and every time, they pull the football away!
I mentioned last week that I started an account on TikTok and I was originally just going to do music, but I am also going to rants about history and politics as well. One Senator from Kentucky holding up relief to millions of Americans who are suffering through a pandemic that was TOTALLY MISHANDLED BY THE GOVERNMENT is unacceptable and I am getting upset so I am going to write about something else.

I do not have much to say on this subject outside what I say every week. Black Lives Matter!
Personal
I am very proud that with two weeks of hard work, I managed to get almost 300 followers on TikTok. It’s been fun to learn about a new platform as well as how to make and edit videos. A few weeks ago, we invested in a refurbished Mac laptop so my wife and I could do creative things. I recorded one or two YouTube videos, and I was planning to make more but I ended up spending time just relaxing and watching videos on TikTok with much of my vacation.
I managed to record 15 or 16 drum tracks, and I spent so much time playing guitar and bass that I needed to take a few days off for my fingers to recover. I also invested in two fuzz pedals and a distorion pedal to go along with my Crybaby Wah. I made one YouTube video in a future series on the equipment I’m using to record, and I have also written down many ideas for future videos.
Sometimes thinking up a good idea for a creative project can be the hardest part, at least for me. By banking away creative project ideas, when I am feeling like making something but not sure what, I can turn to my list of inspiration.
My wife makes art as well, which I’ve mentioned before. She draws and paints, as well as taking photographs, writing, and shooting video. Over my vacation, we watched videos on perspective, negative space, and other studies and concepts about art that I didn’t know much about.
Growing up, my sisters were the artists, who were allowed to take art classes. I played sports and thus wasn’t allowed access to that stuff. I made my first painting back in 2012, and I believe I still have it. I’m going to make a TikTok video soon about the art I’ve been making and if you are interested, you can check out a link to that below. It’s the most recent video I posted.
Over the vacation, in addition to the drum tracks I recorded, I also finished seven paintings and did a few studies to improve my skill. I’m going to share more art and stuff going forward, so find me on TikTok or just check it out on the internetz.
